Source Parts stands behind the quality of our components with a comprehensive return and refund policy. This guide explains our return process, eligibility requirements, and refund procedures.

Return Policy Overview

  • Defective Items: Components that don't meet specifications
  • Wrong Items Sent: Incorrect part numbers or quantities
  • Damaged in Shipping: Items damaged during transit
  • Customer Error: Ordered wrong parts (subject to restocking fee)
  • Unused Items: Items in original packaging and condition

❌ Non-Returnable Items

  • Custom Parts: Specially manufactured or programmed items
  • Cut Tape/Reels: Partial reels or cut quantities from original packaging
  • ESD Damaged: Components damaged by electrostatic discharge
  • Modified Items: Parts that have been altered or soldered
  • Time-Sensitive: Items past 30-day return window
  • Hazardous Materials: Chemicals, batteries (safety regulations)

Return Process

Step 1: Request RMA

All returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number:

  1. Log into your Source Parts account
  2. Navigate to "My Orders" and select the relevant order
  3. Click "Request Return" next to items you want to return
  4. Select reason for return and provide details
  5. Submit request and receive RMA number via email
📧 Email RMA Request
  • Send request to: returns@source.parts
  • Include: Order number, part numbers, quantities, reason for return
  • Attach: Photos if items are damaged or defective
  • Receive RMA number and return instructions within 24 hours

Step 2: Package Items

  • Original Packaging: Use original anti-static packaging when possible
  • ESD Protection: Use anti-static bags for all semiconductors
  • Secure Packaging: Prevent damage during return shipping
  • Include Documentation: RMA number, packing slip, and return reason

Step 3: Ship Return

  • Pre-paid return label included with RMA confirmation
  • Use provided label for free return shipping
  • Drop off at carrier location or schedule pickup
  • Tracking information sent automatically
💰 Customer-Paid Returns
  • Customer chooses return shipping method
  • Ship to address provided in RMA instructions
  • Include RMA number on package exterior
  • Recommend insured shipping for high-value returns

  1. Receipt Scan: Package received and logged into system
  2. Initial Review: Verify items match RMA request
  3. Quality Inspection: Check condition and test functionality
  4. Disposition Decision: Approve refund, replacement, or partial credit
  5. Processing: Refund processed or replacement shipped

💳 Refund Methods

Credit Card Refunds
  • Processing Time: 3-5 business days after inspection
  • Credit Method: Refunded to original payment card
  • Bank Processing: Additional 5-10 days for bank processing
  • Currency: Refunded in original transaction currency
Wire Transfer Refunds
  • Processing Time: 5-7 business days after inspection
  • Bank Information: Provide bank details for refund
  • International: SWIFT codes required for international transfers
  • Fees: Wire transfer fees deducted from refund amount
Account Credit
  • Processing Time: 1-2 business days after inspection
  • Usage: Apply credit to future orders
  • Expiration: Credits expire 12 months from issue date
  • Transfer: Credits can be converted to cash refund upon request
